This original strategy game plays out an ambush of a small troop of Roman soldiers marching along a Roman road sometime in the mid first century AD. They are in a valley when they spot fearsome Britons coming down from the surrounding hills.
Leather board and wooden gaming pieces. A game for two players.
The game starts as Britons charge down from the hillsides; Roman soldiers repel their attack
All men can move freely on the board, but must co-ordinate their moves, as two men are needed to capture an enemy warrior
Players must guard against their pieces becoming separated from their companions, where they are more vulnerable to capture
However, beware the commanders and chiefs, as they can capture multiple pieces, bringing down a warrior and any number of his neighbouring companions
An outright victory is won when one player eliminates all their opponent's pieces
