Hand-painted historic chess board, 1.5" squares

Black and white squares hand-painted onto plyboard, baize underneath; border is of oak with mitred corners. The linseed-oil treated border is secured by screws, finished with dowel to give an authentic appearance.

This board, with 1.5” squares, is ideally suited to our late fifteenth century Publicius chess pieces, or could be used with any chess set with pieces of maximum diameter of c. 1.25”.
